- Courses for interpreters
Aim: The courses are focused on practicing listening skills, understanding, translation and interpretation. Grammar is taught only peripherally. According to the requirements of the students, it is possible to interpret speeches from the TV.
Textbooks: Learning materials are chosen according to the specialization of the student and length of the course. The course includes audio and video aids such as CDs, cassettes, radio, Czech films and TV programmes, topical texts from newspapers, Czech literature and speeches from the European parliament. - Courses for children from Czech families living abroad
Aim: These courses are invaluable for children of Czech parents growing up in a non-Czech environment. The course content enables the students to make themselves understood in Czech and to understand Czech speech (sometimes at a slower speed). The focus is on the explanation of the Czech grammar system, practicing its main problem areas, as well as Czech idioms and the correction of phrases that have been learned incorrectly.
Textbooks: Depending on the specialization and length of the student’s stay, we will choose a Czech language textbook for foreigners. You can find an overview for foreigners in Česká deklinace a konjugace pro cizince, tabulky a příklady (Confortiová Helena, ISBN 382-177-97) or the textbooks for Czech basic or grammar schools (listed words, spelling problems such as use of ‘s’ and ‘z’, etc.). - Courses for students of Czech studies
Aim: These courses are designed especially for students of the Czech language at foreign universities. The courses are focused on practical communication exercises relating to theoretical knowledge already gained.
Textbooks: Depending on the specialisation and length of the student’s stay, we will choose a Czech language textbook for foreigners. - Course of Czech Literature
Aim: In this course the student is taught about the development of Czech literature based on passages from Czech short stories and novels. The aim is to develop a general overview.
Textbooks: These are chosen according to the specialization and length of the student’s stay. We will identify a relevant work of Czech literature from a list of literature for foreigners. We also have had positive experiences in teaching Czech literature to prepare for Czech graduation examinations. - Czech culture course
Aim: The course focuses on cultural knowledge of the Czech Republic. The course draws on texts about the Czech Republic, with the main topics being geography, economics, the political system, language, history and culture (such as music, film, sport).
Textbooks: Chosen according to the specialisation and length of the student’s stay. May include lecture notes Čtení o České republice (Hasil Jiří, Hasilová Helena), Co chcete vědět o České republice, učebnice reálií (Cvejnová Jitka ISBN80-7184-550). - Business Czech course
Aim: Mastering practical language in the field of economics and marketing.

Aim: A theoretical introduction with illustrations from classical and modern Czech films and fairy tales. The focus is on understanding and discussion.
